Cutie in a Sci-Fi Movie

If I am honest, I have no style. I've never been good at keeping up with trends. It's not that I avoid them, I just always seem to miss them or catch on a little late to the party when all the cool things are being reduced to clear.

I also love a lot of different styles and I don't always want to stick to one. At the moment, I am really into my pastels, florals, retro items and heels. But, I love gothic and alternative fashion, I love the oversized shirt and t-shirt look and I love combat boots and hoodies. Despite loving so many styles, I just have one general-ish kind of rule for gettng dressed: Dess everyday like you're the cutie in a sci-fi movie.

Anyway, a few days ago, Jodie and I got together to have a fun little photo shoot and I decided to pull out three drastically different looks from my wardrobe to see what's up with my style and my rule which is so open to interpretation.

Alternative Galactic Cutie

I am crazy for sci-fi and I am crazy for big sci-fi boots and galaxy prints. Dress everyday like you're the cutie from a sci-fi movie nailed. (For real, someone cast me as the loveable Kaylee Frye type character on their show).

Just to show case the jumper here from Alice Takes a Trip. I know I'm a big thrifter, but I am also a fan of supporting local and independant businesses. If you're into alternative, please check out their stuff. I mean, look at the jumper. It's adorable and I make it look captivating.

Cool Cat Couture

Like I said, I'm really into pastels and I also look like a cartoon character. (Like, say an anime character from a sci-fi movie). Recently I got very into skirts and crop tops and I went shopping for them obsessivley; go me actually getting into a trend while it's still going strong. This skirt I bought from another independant designer on etsy, RoobyLane.

I like cats a lot. It just made sense.

Hello Sailor

I'm into boats and nautical patterns and that's where my relationship with the sea ends, which is a shame because I'm a great swimmer. I cannot explain how nautical themes fit into my wardrobe, I just think they are really nice to look at. This is the nicest top I've ever found with a nautical theme so I just had to have it. Strips, anchors and ship wheels get repetitive after a while. These are serious ships on my top.

And, once more, I could so easily be the cutie in a steampunk sci-fi movie...

With floral, and intergalatic love,

Red
